negative - stranded RNA-  single strand of RNA in the Ebola Virus.  This is the genome of the virus.  Once the virus infects a cell, the RNA makes a positive opposite copy of itself and this new positive - stranded RNA is used to make new negative genomes. The new RNA use part of their host cell to make a new protective protein layer, then bud off the cell to look for new cells to invade.

Level 4 Pathogen-  A pathogen is a disease causing agent.  Level 4 pathogens are the most deadly decease causing agents known to man.  Level 4 pathogens have no known vaccination or cure.

Filovirus-  Name comes from the Latin word, filo which means "thread like".  This describes the shape of the virus.

Viral Hemorrhagic fevers-  group of diseases caused by certain viruses.  All forms of viral hemorrhagic fever begin with a fever and muscle pains.  This can lead to breathing problems, bleeding, problems with the kidney and shock.
