Parish- Place having its own church and clergymen; to belong to a Parish, to belong to a certain church

Passover- Festival celebrating the liberation of the Israelites from the Egyptians

Pastor- Minister in charge of church

Penance- Sacrament that covers repentance, contrition, satisfaction and absolution

Pentecost- The celebration of receiving the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai

Pope- Religious head of Roman Catholic church

Prayer- Plea/talking to God

Priest- Someone who is appointed by the Christian Church to conduct mass, confession, baptism and other Christian duties.

Prophet- One who is selected by God and carries out God's will. Interpreter of Gods messages

Protestant- A sect of Christians who do not accept the Pope as the head of the Church; have a few different beliefs than Catholics. Originally started by people who protested against the wrongdoing of the Catholic Church

Purgatory- After a person has died, and they still have to account for certain sins of theirs, they go to this place temporarily to repent for their sins before they go to heaven
